Hello and welcome to my page!
I'm an experienced and versatile mechanical engineer with strong design, critical thinking and experimental problem-solving skills. First-generation Master's graduate of the NC State Advanced Materials Research Lab (AMRL). I'm a self-taught 3d printing nerd, process control aficionado and an advocate for open-source design and continuous learning.
I'm passionate about digital mfg and love exploring alternate design/process flows in product development. I'm able to observe the intersection b/w product design and materials science from a unique perspective with my mixed background. My top priority is learning and growing and building a strong foundation of experiences. In the future, I want to be able to individually contribute within a diverse team, innovate through complex dev. challenges and design robust, functional human-centered products.
I've been a Design and VA/VE engineer @ Yamaha Motor Corp's R&D Division and worked on their flagship INDRA project that developed India’s most economic two-wheeler vehicle. In my current position as a Project Assistant @ CAMAL, I am working with an electric vehicle OEM to make δ improvements in their joining process by utilizing additive manufacturing. My research is focused on 3d printing OFE copper, which is the basis of many accelerator applications.
• Mechanical Design (DFM/DFA, Solidworks CSWA) and Verification (CAD, GD&T, Tolerance analysis)
• Material Characterization (SEM/EDS/NDT/CT) and Physical Modeling (Ansys FEA, MatLab)
• Reliability Testing (Benchmarking, Case testing, Strife testing, Instron UTM)
• Additive Manufacturing (FDM/SLA/SLS/DMLS) and Generative Design (Autodesk expert, nTopology)
• Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments (JMP, Minitab)
• Joining and Assembly Methods (Welding/Brazing)
• Failure Analysis and Lean Six Sigma (DFMEA, RCA, 5Why, Ishikawa)
• WIP: Job search!! Also finishing up on publishing our work on RMJ-AM hybrid joints in Cu interconnects
• Dec 2020: Moving month! Our lab, my workplace is moving to a new facility on NC State campus
• Nov 2020: Passed the Autodesk exam for Certified Expert in Generative Design for Manufacturing
• Oct 2020: Completed 1/2 TUM's online Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
• Sep 2020: Our work on the chapter titled 'Additive Manufacturing of Copper and Cu alloys' gets published in the ASM Handbook, Volume 24: Additive Manufacturing Processes. Yay ✌ Small win but means a lot this year
• May 2020: So Covid happened! And now Airbus is discontinuing its 2020 International Graduate Programme (IGP) right before my final interview @Toulouse, France :/
• Jan 2020: Completed 2.8301x and 2.8302x courses from MIT Principles of Manufacturing MicroMasters Program
• Dec 2019: My OPT EAD finally arrived after >10 months of exasperating setbacks! 😌
• Others: Ocassional photowalks to Downtown Raleigh. Find pictures here!
